Stock Photography Project

What is Stock Photography?

Used widely by creative professionals who require ready-made images that illustrate specific lifestyle, scene, mood or processes. In other words, stock photography is used to fulfill the needs of creative assignments instead of hiring a photographer. With today's microstock agencies, such as iStockphoto.com, creatives have an affordable solution to art over traditional stock agencies.

What is Alyn's Stock Photography Project?

Being an Exclusive Photographer for iStockphoto.com, I contribute to their databse on a regular basis. I am always seeking "models" (By models I mean individuals that will fit into a particular photoshoot. You do not need to be a professional model nor look like one. Each project requires different types of individuals.). Some projects do not require a model. All "models" being photographed for stock photos are required to sign a model release. Releasese must be signed prior to any photoshoot. If the models are under 18, a parent or guardian are requried to sign for them.

Am I compensated for my work?

Due to the nature of stock photography, there is no guarantee that your image will sell. It is for this reason that there is no financial compensation. However, I do offer a CD of the images I upload to iStockphoto as compensation. You will receive a copy of the final, uploaded, images on disk.

How will my image be used?

There is a whole host of uses for stock images. iStock works hard to ensure that it's contributors images are used in appropriate form. You can read the complete license agreement on the iStock website.
